Vitor Costa moves with innovative techniques, transporting to the body the principles of physics brought about by his education as an engineer. He dances for 33 years and has studied Classical Ballet, Modern Ballet, Contemporary Dance, Folk Dances, Body Awareness, Flamenco, Contact Improvisation, Theatre, Music, Singing, Kinesiology, Human Anatomy, Muscle Chains by the Method G D S (Godelieve Denys Struyf), and Tango.
Over the past 25 years, Vitor Costa devoted himself diligently to the art of tango, studying with renowned Argentine teachers like Martha Antón, Pupi Castello, Omar Vega, Tete, Eduardo Aguirre, Miguel A. Zotto, Carlos Gavito, Eduardo and Gloria, Pablo and Danna, Roberto Herrera, Horacio Godoy, Adrian and Alejandra, Gustavo Naveira and Giselle Anne, Julio Balmaceda and Corina de La Rosa, Rodrigo Palacios and Agustina Berenstein, Sebastian Arce and Mariana Montes and mainly Graciela González, Esther and Mingo Pugliese, of whom considers himself to be a disciple.
Vitor joined the Graciela González team teaching, whose members are qualified to teach according her tango technique.
Educator in Brazil
As an educator In Brazil of body awareness and folk dances he worked in Ivaldo Bertazzo and Klaus Vianna dancing schools during 7 and 2 years, respectively, and in Steps Academy for 5 years. He taught courses of contact improvisation applied to tango in the Dance College Anhembi Morumbi . Vitor and Margareth also had their own school (Espaço Vitor Costa) for 7 years. He carries out dance workshops at several dance festivals and dance academies throughout Brazil, besides institutions like SESC and SESI and São Paulo Cultural Center and Sedis Sapientiae. In France, he taught tango and its variants courses in partnership with Margaret in over 15 different organizations, notably Association Tangueando Toulouse and Association Tangueando – Ibos and Pau, and Association Les Temps Du Tango and Fabrique Artistique Teatro Le Pari Tarbes, to name a few. In Switzerland Margareth and Vitor taught tango in a festival and weekend workshops at Sierre. In Holland, he taught tango and its variants courses in partnership with Yvonne Meissner (in Amsterdam and Haarlem), Danielle Riegel (in Amsterdam, Haarlem and Leiden), Lorena de Miranda Serra (in Rotterdam), Mirella Vd Linden (in Rotterdam), Claudia Kratzheller (in Amsterdam), Pilar Gonzalez Moreno (in Amsterdam and Haarlem), Manuela Rivero (In Haarlem, Amsterdam, Hilversum and Texel), Mira Van de Griendt (in Amsterdam), Mirjam Diedrich (in Arnhem and Haarlem). He holds lectures on the history of tango and their orchestras and promotes musicality courses focused on dance.
He acted as an interpreter for seven consecutive years in all Ivaldo Bertazzo dance theatre shows, as well as in many flamenco shows and more than 600 tango shows, not counting the hundreds of performances in Argentine tango floors, as well as in French, Italian, Spanish, Swiss, American, Netherlands and Brazilian ones. He was a professional singer in madrigals for four years. Worked with eminent names in dance and theater as Sergio Mamberti, Mariajose de Carvalho, Raul Cortez, Clarisse Abujamra, Ciça Meirelles, Ana Luisa Sealander, José Possi Neto among other artists.
In partnership with the dancer Margaret Kardosh, he presented with the Argentine instrumental group “Las tangueras” and the “Buenos Aires Tango” group (formed by Argentine and Uruguayan musicians), with which toured several Brazilian states surpassing the 500 performances.
Margareth and Vitor also performed in Buenos Aires (Argentina) and in several French cities (Paris, Tarbes, Pau, Toulouse, Le Mans, Gap, Chartres, Prayssac, Ajaccio, Nîmes, Alles, Poitiers, Orléans, Ibos, and so forth), where they participated in important festivals such as the Festival Couleurs Tango (Paris) and the International Argentine Tango Festival(Tarbes), sharing scenes with renowned Argentine dancers, namely Carlos Gavito, Juan Carlos Copes, Hermanos Macana, Roberto Herrera, Diego El Pajaro. They also danced in Barcelona (Spain), Cagliari (Sardinia), Palermo (Sicily), Sierre (Switzerland), Montevideo (Uruguay) and San Francisco (USA).
Since 2015 in partnership with the argentine dancer Marcela Barrios he has been teaching and performing tango at festivals and workshops throughout France and Italy.

In the Netherlands Vitor performed tango with several dance partners: Yvonne Meissner (in Amsterdam and Haarlem), Danille Riegel (in Amsterdam, Haarlem and Leiden), Lorena de Miranda Serra (in Rotterdam), Mirella Vd Linden (in Rotterdam), Claudia Kratzheller (in Amsterdam), Manuela Rivero (In Haarlem, Amsterdam, Hilversum and Texel), Mira Van de Griendt (in Amsterdam), Mirjam Diedrich (in Arnhem and Haarlem).
Director and choreographer
As director and choreographer, he has created 11 shows of contemporary dance, two musicals, various choreographies and designed the body preparation for plays and 12 different tango shows, presented at major Brazilian and French theaters. Among them stands out the “Flor de Fango”, created in 2006 in France in partnership with the local government. It took place at “Le Pari” theater in Tarbes, to great effect both in localized media (newspapers of local towns) as the national media (TV channel France2).
On television, Costa worked as a choreographer in Brazilian television channel SBT for over a year. He choreographed and performed in numerous films for TV commercials.
Presents himself often dancing and teaching tango with the partners Margaret Kardosh (Brazilian), Manuela Rivero (Portuguese), Mirjam Diedrich (Netherlands) and Marcela Barrios (Argentine) and works as a choreographer upon request.
