Professional dancers for over 30 years, Margareth and Vitor have been performing and teaching tango together in the last 21 years of their careers.
In Sao Paulo they created a renowned tango school, where many of the students they formed became in the meantime professional dancers, acting throughout the international tango community.
Margareth and Vitor presented with the Argentine instrumental group “Las tangueras” and the “Buenos Aires Tango” group (formed by Argentine and Uruguayan musicians), with which toured several Brazilian states surpassing the 500 performances.
They also performed in Buenos Aires (Argentina) and in several French cities (Paris, Tarbes, Pau, Toulouse, Le Mans, Gap, Chartres, Prayssac, Ajaccio, Nîmes, Alles, Poitiers, Orléans, Ibos, and so forth), where they participated in important festivals such as the Festival Couleurs Tango (Paris) and the International Argentine Tango Festival(Tarbes), sharing scenes with renowned Argentine dancers, namely Carlos Gavito, Juan Carlos Copes, Hermanos Macana, Roberto Herrera, Diego El Pajaro. They also danced in Barcelona (Spain), Cagliari (Sardinia), Palermo (Sicily), Sierre (Switzerland), Montevideo (Uruguay) and San Francisco (USA).
In 2006 they created in partnership with the local government a dance theatre tango show “ Flor de Fango”. It took place at the theater “Le Pari” in Tarbes, to great effect both in localized media (newspapers of local towns) as the national media (TV channel France2).
Nowadays they usually teach tango at “Espaço de Dança Andrei Udillof” (Brazil) and perform in many milongas and theaters throughout the world.
Margareth Kardosh, a short biography:
With a classical ballet graduation by the “Royal Academy of Dance” of London, Margareth Kardosh performed in several artistic areas, such as modern ballet, tap dancing, ballroom dances, flamenco, contact improvisation, theater and argentine tango.
During her career, she integrated classical and modern ballet companies and danced as a soloist with the famous brazilian classical dancer Ana Botafogo in “The Nutcracker” and “The Sleeping Beauty” shows, with the “Classical Ballet Company” of Rio de Janeiro.
Since 1992 she dedicates herself to practicing and teaching argentine tango. Disciple of Graciela González and Esther & Mingo Pugliese, she also studied with Gustavo Naveira & Giselle Anne, among other great Argentine Tango names.
In partnership with Vitor Costa, Margareth performed in several brazilian stages and throughout Argentina (Buenos Aires), Spain, Italy, Uruguay, United States, Switzerland and, above all, in France, where they attended major tango festivals, including Festival Couleurs Tango (Paris), International Festival of Argentine Tango (Tarbes), Rencontres du Sud (Toulouse) and Festival of Prayssac, among others. They also shared the stage with renowned Argentine Tango dancers, such as Carlos Gavito, Juan Carlos Copes, Graciela González and Esther & Mingo Pugliese.
Between several shows created with Vitor Costa, the spectacle “Flor de Fango” stands out as the most ambitious and beloved project made by them. It was created and presented in “Le Pari” theater of Tarbes – France (2006), in partnership with the local government.
She currently lives in São Paulo, where she teaches tango, vals and milonga (solo or with a team of teachers graduated by herself over the years), in one of the city’s most recognized ballroom dance schools. Besides that, she organizes the popular “Milonga da Margot” every month, and coordinates one of the biggest Tango festivals in Brazil, the Tango Congress.
